Study of the Utilization of WRF Model Output Data to Produce Daily Flood Forecast Maps in the North Sumatra Region

Flood is a natural disaster that often occurs in Indonesia. Currently, flood events are relatively difficult to predict because floods generally occur suddenly uncertain periods. Extreme rainfall major factor for the occurrence of floods. Considering can be caused by heavy within few hours, it necessary produce daily forecasts mitigation. This study aims test accuracy utilizing forecast data from Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model create maps. The used this include Global Forecast System (GFS) data, BMKG measurement which spread across several points North Sumatra Province, incident reports BNPB.
